We conduct a thorough full day evaluation to determine whether your dog is a good fit for our daycare program and to identify growth or training opportunities. The assessment covers health, behavior, social interaction, and readiness to safely and happily comingle with our other daycare dogs.
Behavioral Assessment
Temperament: One-on-one evaluation of confidence, reactivity, fear, energy, and handling tolerance.
Resource Guarding: Check guarding of food, toys, treats, and resting areas. Strong guarding needs training before group placement. (We partner with Barking Bubz Dog Training in house to help mitigate these behaviors before they become unmanageable.)
Human Interaction: Assess comfort with strangers, response to basic cues (sit, down, recall, place), and tolerance of leash/collar/harness handling.
Social Interaction & Play Style
Controlled Meet-and-Greet: Introduce to a single or small group under supervision; observe initial reactions, greetings, play signals, and calm-down. Play style matching.
